hpcforge.org - The code forge for HPC projects

Welcome to hpcforge.org, the code forge platform for projects using high performance computing (HPC) resources. hpcforge.org provides the most important tools to develop and track the development of complex code on HPC systems.

Important information
The code forge for HPC projects (hpcforge.org) will be out of service November 30, 2017 to accommodate decommissioning of the server. When this happens, CVS, Subversion and git source code will no longer be available.

hpcforge.org has tools to help teams collaborate, like message forums and mailing lists; tools to create and control access to Source Code Management repositories like CVS, Subversion and git.

Some additional features offered by hpcforge.org are:

  • Management of file releases.
  • Document management.
  • News announcements.
  • Issue tracking.
  • Task management.
  • Project wiki.

Creating projects

Projects can be created by registered users only. If you do not have an hpcforge account click on "New Account" link to register as a new user.

Once you obtain a user account log into hpcforge and go to "My Page" then click on the "Register project" link to enter information about the project and submit the application form. You will receive an acceptance or rejection response within 24 hours.

If your project uses a source code repository (such as CVS, Subversion or git) you need to configure your SSH client to access the repository through SSH with public/private keys and (non-empty) pass-phrases. Information on SSH configuration is available in this document: https://hpcforge.org/docman/view.php/24/5/ssh-agent.pdf.
